Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease illuminance unevenness near a corner part of a display screen in a liquid crystal display device employing an in-plane switching system and having a curved display screen.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device employing an in-plane switching system and having a curved display screen is provided, which includes: a first substrate bent in a first direction and including a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of date lines, pixel electrodes and a common electrode; a second substrate bent in the first direction, disposed to oppose to the first substrate and including a polarizing plate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a sealing material for bonding the first substrate with the second substrate; and a driver for outputting a drive signal to at least either the plurality of gate lines or the plurality of data lines. The polarizing plate, in at least a part of a side thereof close to the driver, overlaps the sealing material or is located outside the sealing material in a plan view.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
