PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that improves leakage prevention while achieving a reduction in remaining liquid at a high level by reducing a liquid film formed between fibers of a surface sheet.MEANS: An absorbent article comprises a front sheet, a back sheet, and an absorber between the front and back sheets. The absorbent article has an excretory opening facing part that faces a wearer's excretory opening on a skin abutting surface side, thickness recesses of the front sheet and the absorber, which are continuously or discontinuously arranged in a face direction in such a manner as to surround the excretory opening facing part, and an excreted liquid diffusion area between the thickness recess and the excretory opening facing part. The front sheet has a part that contains a liquid film cleavage agent, and a part that does not contain the liquid film cleavage agent.
