Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-source device having a structure which can suppress a reduction in efficiency for light utilization.SOLUTION: A light-source device comprises: a base substrate 11 having a first face; a semiconductor laser element 110 being disposed on the first face and emitting laser light L in a first direction along the first face; and a prism 113 having an incident face 113a to which the laser light emitted from the semiconductor laser element is incident and a reflection surface 113b reflecting at least a part of the laser light incident from the incident face. When the base of a natural logarithm is denoted by "e", the reflection face is disposed so as to totally reflect the laser light having light intensity equal to or larger than 1/eof center intensity out of the laser light incident to the prism from the incident face.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
