PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video editing apparatus capable of automatically arranging characters having rich expression.SOLUTION: The video editing apparatus comprises: a frame setting section for setting a bounding box corresponding to the font shape of each character for every character when a character string is inputted; and an arrangement determination section for setting the center of gravity to the bounding box set for every character and determining the arrangement of shape of each character constituting the character string by performing a rigid body simulation using the bounding box as a rigid body under conditions that a gravitation preset between the centers of gravity acts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】表現力豊かな文字配置を自動的に行うことができる映像編集装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の一実施形態に係る映像編集装置は、文字列が入力されると、各文字のフォントの字形に応じたバウンディングボックスを文字ごとに設定する枠設定部と、前記文字ごとに設定された前記バウンディングボックスに重心を設定し、この重心間にあらかじめ設定された引力が働く条件下で前記バウンディングボックスを剛体とする剛体シミュレーションを行うことにより、前記文字列を構成する各文字の字形の配置を決定する配置決定部と、を備える。【選択図】 図１
