Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that suppresses the generation of scratches on a surface of a polarization plate when a touch operation is performed where a gesture operation rubbing the surface of the polarization plate frequently occurs, and can achieve good display.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display 100 comprises an in-cell type or on-cell type touch panel sensor 1f of a projection type capacitance system, and further a display device 1 having a first polarization plate 1a arranged on a display surface and a protective layer 6 arranged on the first polarization plate 1a.
