Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an image forming apparatus that can appropriately deal with a low-heating state of a fixing member depending on the cause of the state.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an image forming apparatus includes detecting the voltage input to an image forming apparatus 1 at the start-up of a fixing device 6 and detecting the temperature T of a fixing roller 18 at the start-up of a fixing device 6, and in a low-voltage state where the voltage state obtained from the detected voltage V does not satisfy a predetermined voltage condition and in a low-heating state where the heating state obtained from the detected temperature T of the fixing roller 18 does not satisfy a predetermined heating condition, performing display to urge a return operation of the fixing device 6 on a liquid crystal panel 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】本発明では、定着部材の低加熱状態に対して、その原因毎に適切な対処をすることのできる画像形成装置の制御方法を提供することを課題としている。【解決手段】定着装置６の立ち上げ時に画像形成装置１に入力される電圧を検出すると共に、定着装置６の立ち上げ時の定着ローラ１８の温度Ｔを検出し、検出された電圧Ｖから得られる電圧状態が所定の電圧条件を満たさない低電圧状態の場合であって、検出された定着ローラ１８の温度Ｔから得られる加熱状態が所定の加熱条件を満たさない低加熱状態の場合は、液晶パネル４１に定着装置６の復帰動作を促す表示を行う。【選択図】図７
