PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-type gas meter that can sufficiently secure the visibility of its liquid crystal display unit.SOLUTION: The configuration of a gas meter is such that a light-transmissive display guard plate 14 is fitted to a front aperture part 13 formed on the front wall of a casing, a thin display 2 is installed on the rear side of a display guard plate in the casing, and information displayed on the thin display 2 can be visually recognized from outside the casing via the display guard plate 14. A high-luminance light emitter 4 so designed as to emit high-luminance light in time of abnormality is disposed on the rear side of the display guard plate 14 in the casing. A display concave size L, which is the distance from the front end position of the front aperture part periphery to the front face position of the display guard plate 14 in the casing, is set to be 11.0 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A 【課題】液晶表示部の視認性を十分に確保できる膜式ガスメータを提供する。【解決手段】ケーシングの前壁に形成された前面開口１３部に透光性のディスプレイ保護板１４が取り付けられるとともに、ケーシング内におけるディスプレイ保護板の裏面側に薄型ディスプレイ２が設置され、薄型ディスプレイ２に表示される情報がディスプレイ保護板１４を介してケーシングの外部から視認されるように構成されたガスメータを対象とする。ケーシング内のディスプレイ保護板１４の裏面側に、異常時に高輝度光が発生するようにした高輝度発光器４が設けられる。ケーシングにおける前面開口部周縁の前端位置からディスプレイ保護板１４の前面位置までの奥行き寸法である表示部凹み寸法Ｌが１１．０ｍｍ以下に設定されている。【選択図】図４Ａ
