PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce internal pressure of a side airbag at a later stage of a collision while increasing the internal pressure of the side airbag at an initial stage of the collision.SOLUTION: A side airbag device 10 comprises: a side airbag main body 30 which is stored in a seat back 16 and inflated and expanded beside an occupant P and has a hole part 30A formed; an inflator 32 provided in a rear part of the side airbag main body 30; an outer cover member 40, a part of which is sewn to a peripheral edge of the hole part 30A in the side airbag main body 30 and covers the hole part 30A from outside; a hung cloth 38, provided at an inner part of the side airbag main body 30, which is hung across inner walls opposing to each other in a seat width direction in the side airbag main body 30 being inflated and expanded; and a strap 42 which joins the hung cloth 38 to an outer cover member 40 through the hole part 30A and imparts tension toward a seat rear side with respect to the outer cover member 40, with the side airbag main body 30 being inflated and expanded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】衝突初期におけるサイドエアバッグの内圧を高めつつ、衝突後半におけるサイドエアバッグの内圧を低下させる。【解決手段】サイドエアバッグ装置１０は、シートバック１６に収納されて乗員Ｐの側方で膨張展開されると共に、孔部３０Ａが形成されたサイドエアバッグ本体３０と、サイドエアバッグ本体３０の後部内に設けられたインフレータ３２と、一部がサイドエアバッグ本体３０における孔部３０Ａの周縁に縫製されて孔部３０Ａを外側から覆う外側カバー部材４０と、サイドエアバッグ本体３０の内部に設けられ、膨張展開状態のサイドエアバッグ本体３０におけるシート幅方向に対向する内壁間に架け渡された架設布３８と、孔部３０Ａを通じて架設布３８と外側カバー部材４０とを繋ぐと共に、サイドエアバッグ本体３０の膨張展開状態で外側カバー部材４０に対してシート後方側への張力を付与するストラップ４２と、を有する。【選択図】図２
