PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device which shortens a time until a shoulder of an occupant seated on a vehicle seat is constrained, and can improve protection performance.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device 20 includes a reaction force member 22, moving means 24 and a side airbag device 26. The reaction member 22 is movably arranged at least at a side face upper part of a seatback part 14 of a vehicle seat 10 toward a front side of the seat, and constituted into a plate shape. The moving means 24 moves the reaction force member 22 to the front side of the seat on the basis of a detection signal for detecting or predicting a side face collision, and positions a region of the reaction force member 22 to a shoulder sideway of the occupant. The side airbag device 26 is arranged at a side part 14A of the seatback part 14 at the inside of a seat width direction rather than the reaction force member 22, and deploys a side airbag to the front side of the seat between the shoulder sideway and the reaction force member 22 on the basis of the detection signal from a detection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】車両用シートに着座する乗員の肩部を拘束するまでの時間を短縮し、かつ、保護性能を向上させることができる乗員保護装置を提供する。【解決手段】乗員保護装置２０は、反力部材２２と、移動手段２４と、サイドエアバッグ装置２６とを含んで構成されている。反力部材２２は、車両用シート１０のシートバック部１４の少なくとも側面上部にシート前方側へ移動可能に設けられ、プレート状に構成されている。移動手段２４は、側面衝突を検知又は予知する検知信号に基づいて反力部材２２をシート前方側へ移動させ、反力部材２２の部位を乗員の肩部側方に位置させる。サイドエアバッグ装置２６は、反力部材２２よりもシート幅方向内側においてシートバック部１４の側部１４Ａに設けられ、検知部からの検知信号に基づいて、肩部側方と反力部材２２との間でサイドエアバッグをシート前方側へ展開させる。【選択図】図１
