Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical circuit that has connection to an optical fiber array while allowing high density mounting.SOLUTION: Two package modules 102 and 105 of 30 mm square are mounted on a board 101, and optical waveguides of a Si photonics lightwave circuit 103 of 20 mm square mounted on the package module 102 and an optical fiber array 106 fixed in an optical fiber block (15×10 mm) 104 are connected to each other. Moreover, an emission end face of the optical waveguides of the Si photonics lightwave circuit 103 is perpendicular to a mounting surface of the package module 102. In the present embodiment, the optical waveguides of the Si photonics lightwave circuit 103 are inclined at an appropriate angle, e.g. 20 degrees from a direction perpendicular to a right-side end face thereof, and also the optical fiber block 104 is fixed such that each of the optical fibers is inclined at 20 degrees from a direction perpendicular to an end face thereof for being connected to the Si photonics lightwave circuit 103.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】光ファイバアレイとの接続を有する、高密度に実装可能な光回路を提供すること。【解決手段】ボード101に2つの30mm角のパッケージモジュール102、105が実装され、パッケージモジュール102に実装された20mm角のSiフォトニクス光波回路103の光導波路と光ファイバブロック(15×10mm)104に固定された光ファイバアレイ106とが接続されている。また、Siフォトニクス光波回路103の光導波路の出射端面は、パッケージモジュール102の実装面に対して垂直である。本実施形態では、Siフォトニクス光波回路103の光導波路を右側端面に垂直な方向から、適当な角度、例えば20度傾けている。そして、光ファイバブロック104も、各光ファイバをSiフォトニクス光波回路103と接続する端面に垂直な方向から20度傾けて固定している。【選択図】図1
