PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin structure formed from a thermoplastic resin containing a fiber, which can improve the strength of the structure.SOLUTION: A method 100 for producing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin structure having a base and an edge portion formed in contact with the base includes: a fiber-reinforced resin body arrangement step S1 of arranging a second fiber-reinforced resin in the periphery of a first fiber-reinforced resin; a base molding step S2 of pressing the fiber-reinforced resin body to mold the base; and an edge portion molding step S3 of injecting a thermoplastic resin containing a third fiber into the periphery of the base to mold an edge portion. The fiber arrangement step S1 includes arranging the second fiber-reinforced resin in the peripheral edge portion of the first fiber-reinforced resin so that an orientation direction of the fiber in the second fiber-reinforced resin becomes irregular.
