Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a disease involving the expression of GLO1 by analyzing details of the expression of GLO1, a marker used in the detection method, a GLO1 enzyme activity improver, and a GLO1 enzyme activity reducing agent.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there are provided a method, etc., based on the finding that there are 8 different gene polymorphisms present in the thymine repeat sequence within the GLO1 promoter region, a gene polymorphism with 15 thymines is involved in the enhancement of GLO1 transcriptional activity, and the proportion of the gene polymorphism correlates with a disease involving the expression of GLO1.SELECTED DRAWING: None
