Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a disease involving the expression of GLO1 by analyzing details of the expression of GLO1, a marker used in the detection method, a GLO1 enzyme activity improver, and a GLO1 enzyme activity reducing agent.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there are provided a method, etc., based on the finding that there are 8 different gene polymorphisms present in the thymine repeat sequence within the GLO1 promoter region, a gene polymorphism with 15 thymines is involved in the enhancement of GLO1 transcriptional activity, and the proportion of the gene polymorphism correlates with a disease involving the expression of GLO1.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】GLO1の発現の詳細を解析して、GLO1の発現が関与する疾患の検出方法、該検出方法に使用するマーカー、GLO1酵素活性向上剤及びGLO1酵素活性低減剤を提供すること。【解決手段】GLO1プロモーター領域内のチミン反復配列内に存在する8種類の遺伝子多型が存在すること、チミン数15個の遺伝子多型がGLO1の転写活性の亢進に関与すること、さらには該遺伝子多型割合がGLO1の発現が関与する疾患と相関することを新規に見出し、本発明を完成した。【選択図】なし
