Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which coupling efficiency between an optical element and another optical member such as an optical waveguide can be improved.SOLUTION: An optical module 100 comprises: a lens module 7 having a plurality of lenses 71; a spacer 60 having a plurality of wiring patterns 62; a substrate 61; a spacer mounted on the lens module 7; and a plurality of optical elements 42 mounted on the spacer 60 so as to be electrically connected to the plurality of wiring patterns 62. The spacer 60 has a lower surface 64A and an upper surface 64B located opposite the lower surface 64A. At least a part of the plurality of wiring patterns 62 is exposed from the lower surface 64A of the spacer 60, and the plurality of optical elements 42 are mounted on the lower surface 64A of the spacer 60.
