Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of effectively analyzing various fatty acids existing as a free fatty acid in a reaction product of lithium 12-hydroxystearate obtained by reacting 12-hydroxystearic acid with lithium hydroxide monohydrate.SOLUTION: A free fatty acid analyzing method relating to the invention is an analysis method for a free fatty acid that is contained in a reaction product of lithium 12-hydroxystearate obtained by reacting 12-hydroxystearic acid with lithium hydroxide monohydrate. In the method, a trimethylsilyl derivatizing reagent is used to apply derivatization treatment to the reaction product so as to trimethylsilylate the free fatty acid contained in the reaction product, the derivatization-treated solution is filtered, heating treatment is applied to the obtained filtrate and then the trimethylsilylated free fatty acid contained in the heat-treated solution is analyzed by gas chromatography.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸と水酸化リチウム一水和物とを反応させて得られる12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウムの反応生成物中の遊離脂肪酸として存在する各種脂肪酸を効果的に分析することができる方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る遊離脂肪酸の分析方法は、12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸と水酸化リチウム一水和物とを反応させて得られる12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウムの反応生成物中に含まれる遊離脂肪酸の分析方法であって、反応生成物に対し、トリメチルシリル誘導体化試薬を用いて誘導体化処理を施すことにより、その反応生成物中に含まれる遊離脂肪酸をトリメチルシリル化し、誘導体化処理後の溶液を濾過し、得られた濾液に対して加熱処理を施し、ガスクロマトグラフィーにより、加熱処理後の溶液に含まれるトリメチルシリル化した遊離脂肪酸を分析する。【選択図】図1
