PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of displaying alternative content when a pay broadcast program is failed in reception.SOLUTION: The receiver separates a piece of control information for controlling the display of a program from a broadcast signal and detects the reception state of the broadcast signal. When determining that the reception state requires an alternative content, the receiver notifies a piece of information of the program picked up from the control information to a communication apparatus, and acquires a piece of information relevant to alternative content of the program from a communication device.
