Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for performing measurements in a multi carrier environment.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, a request to perform measurements on a frequency corresponding to one of frequency bands is received from a base station. It is determined whether a compressed mode is to be applied on the frequency corresponding to the one of the frequency bands based on capabilities of a user equipment. If the compressed mode is applied on the frequency, the compressed mode is applied on the frequency corresponding to one of the frequency bands so that measurements can be performed on the frequency in remaining frequency bands without interrupting data activity on the remaining frequency bands. Otherwise, measurements are performed on the frequency corresponding to the frequency bands without applying the compressed mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】本発明はマルチキャリア環境で、測定を実行するための方法及び装置を提供する。【解決手段】一実施形態で、一つの周波数帯域に対応する周波数に対する測定を実行する要請を基地局から受信する。ユーザ端末の性能によって前記周波数帯域のうち一つに対応する前記周波数に圧縮モードが適用されるか否かを判定する。前記周波数に圧縮モードが適用される場合、前記圧縮モードが前記周波数帯域のうち一つに対応する前記周波数に適用されて、残りの周波数帯域に対するデータ活動を妨害することなく、残りの周波数帯域の前記周波数に対して測定が実行される。そうでない場合、圧縮モードを適用することなく、前記周波数帯域に対応する前記周波数に対して測定が実行される。【選択図】図2
