Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for permitting a user to transition from use of one electronic device to another seamlessly.SOLUTION: A user holds a cellular phone 504 on which a user interface screen 506 is displayed. When the user holding the cellular phone 504 approaches a tablet computer 512, the cellular phone and the tablet computer come within a wireless communications range of each other and begin wireless communication. In response to reception of usage information regarding a messaging application being used on the cellular phone 504, the tablet computer 512 displays affordance 514 to inform the user that continuity of the messaging application across the devices is possible.
