Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can suppress the generation of waviness on a recording medium, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A holding member 49 holding a fixing belt 43 against a pressure member, such as a pressure roller 45 is arranged on the downstream side in a direction of travel of the fixing belt with respect to a nip forming member, such as a fixing roller 41.
