PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which hardly causes cracking.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 100 which comprises a honeycomb structure part 10 having porous partition walls for partitioning and forming a plurality of cells serving as fluid flow passages extending from an inlet end face 11 which is one face end to an outlet end face 12 which is the other end face and an outer peripheral wall 20 disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structure part 10, wherein the thickness of the outer peripheral wall 20 is 0.5 to 4.0 mm, a gap path 30 is formed along the surface of the outer peripheral wall 20 in the outer peripheral wall 20, the gap path 30 has a width of 0.4 to 4.0 mm and a height of 50 to 99% of the height of the outer peripheral wall 20 and the total length of the gap path 30 is 1000% or more of the length in the extending direction of the cells of the honeycomb structure part 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】クラックが発生し難いハニカム構造体を提供する。【解決手段】一方の端面である流入端面１１から他方の端面である流出端面１２まで延びる流体の流路となる複数のセルを区画形成する多孔質の隔壁を有するハニカム構造部１０と、このハニカム構造部１０の外周面に配設された外周壁２０と、を備え、外周壁２０の厚さが、０．５〜４．０ｍｍであり、外周壁２０内には、外周壁２０の表面に沿って空隙路３０が形成されており、空隙路３０は、幅が０．４〜４．０ｍｍであり、外周壁２０の厚さの５０〜９９％の高さを有し、空隙路３０の総長さが、ハニカム構造部１０のセルの延びる方向の長さの１０００％以上であるハニカム構造体１００。【選択図】図１
