Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an injection-molded panel on a viewing side of a polarizing plate, in which visibility of the device is ensured even when the device is observed through polarizing sunglasses.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has an image display region when viewed from a viewing side, and the device includes a liquid crystal cell A, a polarizing plate B disposed on the viewing side of the liquid crystal cell A, and a backlight light source C having a continuous emission spectrum. An injection-molded panel D is disposed on the viewing side of the polarizing plate B, and a retardation film E is disposed between the polarizing plate B and the injection-molded panel D, in which the retardation film E has an in-plane retardation ReE (nm) satisfying 3000<ReE≤100000, and the retardation film is disposed in such a manner that an angle formed by a slow axis of the retardation film E and an absorption axis of the polarizing plate B ranges from 35 to 55°.
