Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved method of manufacturing fucoxanthin capable of enriching fucoxanthin in Phaeophyceace.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing fucoxanthin comprises: a Phaeophyceace introduction step of introducing Phaeophyceace into sea water adjusted to have an iron concentration of greater than 100 μg/L; and a light exposure step of exposing the sea water into which the Phaeophyceace was introduced to light including at least wavelengths of 400 to 500 nm. As well as enhancing the growth of Phaeophyceace, fucoxanthin is also enriched.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】褐藻類中のフコキサンチンを濃化することが可能な、新規かつ改良されたフコキサンチンの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】鉄濃度が100μg/L超に調整された海水中に、褐藻類を投入する褐藻類投入工程と、褐藻類が投入された海水に少なくとも400〜500nmの波長を含む光を照射する光照射工程と、を含むことを特徴とするフコキサンチンの製造方法である。褐藻類の成長を促進することができるのみならず、フコキサンチンを濃化させることができる。【選択図】図1
