PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade cover that can be removed from a sickle as well as securing safety of a worker.SOLUTION: The blade cover includes: a cover 11 that by extending it covers the edge of a sickle 50 and by contracting it exposes the edge of the sickle 50; a compression spring 16 that energizes the cover 11 in the extending direction; a slide plate 19 and a spring 20 that function as a manual lock means which removes the cover 11 from the edge of the sickle 50 by manually contracting the compression spring 16 and which is for keeping the compression spring 16 contracted; two fitting bands 21 which are for tightly attaching to the handle 51 of the sickle 50 to install the blade cover 10 to the sickle 50; a magnet 22 which is mounted on the edge side of the sickle 50 on the inner peripheral face in the tip end of the cover 11; and a grind stone 23 which is installed on the magnet 22 and which has a groove formed on the upper face and having an inverted triangular shape in a cross section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】作業者の安全性を確保できるとともに鎌から取り外すことができる刃カバーを提供する。【解決手段】伸ばすと鎌５０の刃先を覆うとともに縮ませると鎌５０の刃先を露出させるためのカバー１１と、カバー１１を伸長方向に付勢するための圧縮バネ１６と、手で圧縮バネ１６を縮めてカバー１１を鎌５０の刃先から外すとともに圧縮バネ１６を縮めたままとするための手動ロック手段として機能するスライド板１９およびハジキ２０と、鎌５０の柄部５１に締め付けて刃カバー１０を鎌５０に取り付けるための２本の取付バンド２１と、カバー１１の先端部の内周面の鎌５０の刃先側に取り付けられた磁石２２と、磁石２２の上に取り付けられるとともに上面に断面形状が逆三角形状の溝が形成された砥石２３とを具備する。【選択図】図１
