Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser light generator with a high degree of freedom in regard to its oscillation condition.SOLUTION: A laser light generator comprises: a light source part 2 having a surface-emitting laser element 21; a light amplifier part 3 for amplifying laser light L output by the light source part 2 to provide an output; and a control part 9 for controlling a light-emission face of the light source part 2. The surface-emitting laser element 21 has: an active layer 212; a pair of reflection layers 211 and 213 formed to sandwich the active layer 212 therebetween; and a substrate 210 having the active layer 212 and the pair of reflection layers 211 and 213 formed on a principal face 210a thereof. The substrate 210 is a GaAs substrate, the principal face 210a of which is inclined by a predetermined angle from a (100) plane.
