Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting the surface of an elastic body formed into a curved surface and a region in the vicinity of the surface.SOLUTION: The method for cutting an elastic body comprises: (1) a preparation step of preparing the elastic body having at least a part of the surface formed into a curved surface from an elastic material having a glass transition temperature Tg lower than the room temperature; (2) a molding step of molding the surface formed in the curved surface of the elastic body into a flat surface; (3) a cooling step of cooling the elastic body after the molding to a temperature lower than the temperature Tg; and (4) a cutting step of cutting the cooled elastic body to a depth of 1 μm or more and 500 μm or less from the surface.
