Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that can exhibit sufficient heating capacity in each indoor unit during a heating operation even when an outdoor unit is installed at a position higher than that of each of the plurality of indoor units.SOLUTION: A CPU 210 extracts a maximum value and a minimum value among calculated refrigerant supercooling degrees SCa-SCc, and calculates an average refrigerant supercooling degree SCv of the supercooling degrees. Then, the CPU 210 transmits the calculated average refrigerant supercooling degree SCv and a high pressure saturation temperature Ths to indoor units 5a-5c. CPUs 510a-510c that have received the average refrigerant supercooling degree SCv and the high pressure saturation temperature Ths calculate the refrigerant supercooling degrees SCa-SCc by subtracting heat exchange outlet temperatures Toa-Toc from the high pressure saturation temperature Ths, respectively, and control openings of indoor expansion valves 52a-52c so that each of the calculated refrigerant supercooling degrees SCa-SCc becomes the average refrigerant supercooling degree SCv.
