Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-cylinder four-stroke engine unit including a horizontal cylinder part, capable of simplifying the configuration of an exhaust device and actualizing early activation of a catalyst, and to provide a ride type vehicle.SOLUTION: The single-cylinder four-stroke engine unit includes a main catalyst having the highest emission control ability in an exhaust passage. The main catalyst is arranged of which a virtual straight line f2 directed from the upstream end center of the main catalyst to the downstream end center and a virtual straight line f1 directed from the center of an exhaust port 26H of a single-cylinder four-stroke engine to the center of a joint part 34a between an exhaust pipe and a noise eliminator are inclined in view from the vertical direction so that sites are located in one direction perpendicular to a cylinder axial line L1 in proportion as located in one direction parallel to the cylinder axial line L1, and which at least partly overlaps with a quadrilateral (S1-S4) defined by the cylinder axial line L1, a crank axial line L2, the exhaust port 26H and the joint part 34a, in view from the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】排気装置の構造をシンプルにでき、且つ、触媒の早期活性を図ることのできる、水平シリンダ部を備えた単気筒4ストロークエンジンユニット、並びに、鞍乗型車両を提供する。【解決手段】排気通路内で最も高い浄化能力を有するメイン触媒を有する。鉛直方向に見て、メイン触媒の上流端中央から下流端中央へ向いた仮想直線f2と、単気筒4ストロークエンジンの排気口26Hの中央から排気管と消音器との接合部34aの中央へ向いた仮想直線f1とが、シリンダ軸線L1に平行な一つの方向に位置する部位ほど、シリンダ軸線L1に垂直な一つの方向に位置するように傾斜して配置され、且つ、鉛直方向に見て、シリンダ軸線L1、クランク軸線L2、排気口26H、接合部34aにより規定される四辺形(S1〜S4)と、少なくとも一部が重なる。【選択図】図4 |
