Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a resistance value per unit length of various wiring in consideration of electromotive force of a piezoelectric element by a driving signal and residual vibration.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer comprises: a driving signal generation section 33 generating a driving signal for driving a piezoelectric element 200; a residual vibration detection section 356A; a selection section 352A selecting supply of the driving signal to the piezoelectric element 200 or supply of the electromotive force of the piezoelectric element to the residual vibration detection section 356A; a control IC 29d comprising the residual vibration detection section 356A, a connection terminal x3 connected to the piezoelectric element 200, an input terminal x1 supplied with the driving signal, and an output terminal x2 to which an output signal of the residual vibration detection section 356A is output; first external wiring L1o being connected to the input terminal and supplied with the driving signal; and second external wiring L2o being connected to the output terminal x2 and supplied with the output signal of the residual vibration detection section 356A.
