Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of obtaining an image following a traveling direction of a rail track without any mechanical driving mechanism.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes an imaging unit for imaging a rail track in front of a railway vehicle and generating an input image signal, a rail track direction detector for detecting the direction of the rail track from the input image signal and outputting rail track direction information, a horizontal direction cut-out unit for cutting out an image in a direction indicated by the rail track direction information out of the input image signal, and an image output unit for outputting the image cut out by the horizontal direction cut-out unit. The rail track direction detector detects the direction of the rail track by using a part of a video line in the horizontal direction of the input image signal and the horizontal direction cut-out unit cuts out and outputs an image indicated by the rail track direction information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】機械的な駆動機構を持たない撮像装置によって、線路の進行方向に追従した画像を得ることができる撮像装置の提供を目的とする。【解決手段】鉄道の車両の前方にある線路を撮影し、入力画像信号を生成する撮像部と、前記入力画像信号から線路の方向を検出し、線路方向情報を出力する線路方向検出部と、前記入力画像信号のうち前記線路方向情報の示す方向の画像を切り出す水平方向切り出し部と、前記水平方向切り出し部で切り出した画像を出力する画像出力部と、を具備し、前記線路方向検出部は、前記入力画像信号の水平方向の一部の映像ラインを用いて線路の方向を検出し、水平方向切り出し部は、線路方向情報が示す画像を切り出して出力する。【選択図】 図1
