Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion battery improved in the worsening of charge and discharge cycle characteristics owing to the rise in temperature.SOLUTION: A lithium ion battery comprises: a negative electrode including a carbonaceous material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions, a current collector, and a binding agent for binding the carbon material and the current collector; a positive electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The negative electrode includes, as the binding agent, carboxymethylcellulose and/or a salt thereof. The nonaqueous electrolyte solution includes fluorine-containing phosphoric ester expressed by the formula (1).
