Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic core for which a required flange installation space and a practical excess space can be secured even within a narrow mounting area, a magnetic component and a designing method of the magnetic core.SOLUTION: An outline OL1 of a cross section P of a flange 12 is formed in a first irregular convex polygonal shape which is an irregular polygon and a convex polygon, and includes a side Sa1 and a side Sa2 brought into contact with all sides Sb1-Sb4 of a first circumscribed rectangle RC1 which is circumscribed with the outline OL1, and overlapped partially with the sides Sb1 and Sb2, respectively. The cross section P includes corner cuts Ca1 and Ca2, and corner cuts Ca3 and Ca4 which are set in size equal to or less than 1/2 of the corner cuts Ca1 and Ca2, in each end portion of diagonals Db1 and Db2 of the first circumscribed rectangle RC1, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
