Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, when a scanning operation is continuously performed in a saturated temperature condition, the temperature from being continuously increased from the temperature in the saturated temperature state.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a temperature detection part 51 that detects the temperature of a fixing part; a fixing temperature control part 30 that controls a heating part of a fixing part so that the temperature of the fixing part becomes a first prescribed value on the basis of a result of detection performed by the temperature detection part 51; and a temperature detection part 36 that detects that the temperature of the image forming apparatus is in a saturated temperature state. When the temperature detection part 36 detects that the temperature of the image forming apparatus is in the saturated temperature state and a scanning operation is continuously executed, the fixing temperature control part 30 controls the heating part of the fixing part so that the temperature of the fixing part becomes a second prescribed value lower than the first prescribed value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】飽和温度状態から、連続してスキャン動作を実施した場合において、飽和温度状態の温度より更に温度上昇し続けることを抑制する。【解決手段】定着部の温度を検知する温度検知部51と、温度検知部51での検知結果に基づいて、定着部の温度が第一の規定値となるように、定着部の加熱部を制御する定着温度制御部30と、画像形成装置の温度が飽和温度状態となっていることを検知する温度検知部36と、を備え、定着温度制御部30は、温度検知部36により飽和温度状態であることを検知した場合であって、かつ、連続するスキャン動作が実行された場合に、定着部の温度が第一の規定値よりも低い、第二の規定値となるように、定着部の加熱部を制御する。【選択図】図3
