Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device capable of making the brightness of a light emission surface of the illumination device further uniform by suppressing the luminance of the corner parts of the light emission surface of the illumination device, in the illumination device formed in a polygonal flat plate-like shape.SOLUTION: An illumination device includes: a light guide plate 2; a light source 6 arranged so as to face an end surface 2a of the light guide plate 2; and a diffuser panel 3 diffusing light emitted by the light guide plate 2. The diffuser panel 3 includes a projection 3b formed along an end surface 3j of the diffuser panel 3, arranged in a position facing the peripheral edge of the light guide plate 2, and projecting to the light guide plate 2. The projection 3b is formed in a polygonal frame shape which includes a plurality of planar outside surfaces 3k, and a plurality of nearly planar inside surfaces 3n in parallel to each of the plurality of outside surfaces 3k, in the inner peripheral side of the projection 3b. In each of the plurality of corner parts of the diffuser panel 3, the inner peripheral side of the projection 3b is formed with a corner part inside surface 3r connecting end parts 3p of inside surfaces 3n adjacent in the circumferential direction of the projection 3b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】多角形の平板状に形成される照明装置において、照明装置の光射出面の角部の輝度を抑制して、照明装置の光射出面の明るさをより均一化することが可能な照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】この照明装置は、導光板2と、導光板2の端面2aに臨むように配置される光源6と、導光板2が発する光を拡散する拡散板3とを備えており、拡散板3は、拡散板3の端面3jに沿って形成されるとともに導光板2の周縁部に対向する位置に配置され導光板2に向かって突出する突出部3bを備えている。突出部3bは、平面状の複数の外側面3kを備えるとともに、複数の外側面3kのそれぞれに平行な略平面状の複数の内側面3nを突出部3bの内周側に備える多角形の枠状に形成されている。拡散板3の複数の角部のそれぞれにおいて、突出部3bの内周側には、突出部3bの周方向で隣接する内側面3nの端部3p同士を繋ぐ角部内側面3rが形成されている。【選択図】図4
