Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow users to efficiently perform work as showing to other person a display surface of a touch panel of a portable terminal device.SOLUTION: In a first operation mode, a screen display by a touch panel 101 is valid, and processing in accordance with a touch operation is valid. In a second operation mode, the screen display by the touch panel 101 is valid, and processing in accordance with the touch operation other than processing for extending a period during which the screen display by the touch panel 101 in accordance with the touch operation is valid is invalid. A control unit 303 is configured to, upon any operation mode of the first operation mode and second operation mode, set an operation mode to the second operation mode when a distance to a user us in a display direction of the touch panel 101 from an electronic instrument 100 does not fall within a threshold range.
