Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary coordinates from being generated even when a coordinate detection unit and a contact detection unit are combined with each other independently.SOLUTION: An electronic blackboard 2 for detecting coordinates of a position pointed by an electronic pen 4, by means of the electronic pen 4 for pointing a position on a display surface of a display unit 3b includes: a coordinate detection unit 22 for detecting a first event status obtained by operation of the electronic pen 4 and detecting coordinates of the electronic pen 4 on the display surface, when the electronic pen 4 is in contact with, or not in contact with and close to the display surface; a contact detection unit 24 for detecting a second event status obtained by operation of the electronic pen 4 when the electronic pen 4 is in contact with the display surface; and an event distribution unit 25 for extracting valid coordinates for one stroke formed by handwriting operation on the display surface, on the basis of the first event status, the second event status, and the coordinates detected by the coordinate detection unit 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
