PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform expansion wiping in one of a forward movement time and a return movement time according to a deposit on a surface of a windshield glass.SOLUTION: A microcomputer 58 determines whether deposits on a surface of a windshield glass 1 is a liquid such as a raindrop, or a solid such as snow and frost, on the basis of respective detection results of a rain sensor 76 for detecting the deposits on the surface of the windshield glass 1, and an ambient temperature sensor 126 for detecting ambient temperature of a vehicle. The microcomputer 58 performs wiping range expansion control for expanding a wiping range of a front passenger seat side wiper blade 36 to an upper side of a front passenger seat side by extending a front passenger seat side wiper arm 35 in a forward movement time, and performs normal wiping control in which the wiping range of the front passenger seat side wiper blade 36 is not expanded to the upper side of the front passenger seat side, in a return movement time, when the deposit is the liquid, and performs the normal wiping control in the forward movement time and performs the wiping range expansion control in the return movement time when the deposit is the solid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ウィンドシールドガラス表面の付着物に応じて往動時及び復動時のいずれかに拡大払拭を行う。【解決手段】マイクロコンピュータ５８は、ウィンドシールドガラス１表面の付着物を検知するレインセンサ７６及び車両の外気温度を検知する外気温センサ１２６の各々の検知結果に基づいて、ウィンドシールドガラス１表面の付着物が、雨滴等の液体か、雪及び霜等の固形物かを判定する。マイクロコンピュータ５８は、当該付着物が液体の場合は、往動時に助手席側ワイパアーム３５を伸長させて助手席側ワイパブレード３６の払拭範囲を助手席側上方に拡大する払拭範囲拡大制御を行うと共に復動時に助手席側ワイパブレード３６の払拭範囲を助手席側上方に拡大しない通常払拭制御を行い、当該付着物が固形物の場合は、往動時に通常払拭制御を行い、復動時に払拭範囲拡大制御を行う。【選択図】図１
