PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, e.g., novel methods of producing orthodontic arch wires.SOLUTION: Customized arch wires are formed that facilitate wire insertion into fixed appliances and sliding of a structure during the course of orthodontic treatment. These arch wires are harmonized with lingual appliances by modifying the arch wire shape to alleviate the adverse effects of bends and the arch wire length discrepancy while maintaining the overall arch wire shape.
