Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve emission performance when starting an internal combustion engine in response to a start request made during operation stop processing for the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: In the state of executing first enrichment control to inject fuel from a fuel injection valve during operation stop processing for the engine on the basis of a value of a starting injection execution flag F1 so that an air-fuel ratio AF is enriched at starting the engine, when determining that an engine speed is not lower than a predetermined speed (S120) and in addition determining that a start request for the engine is made on the basis of a value of an intermittent stop request flag F2 (S130), an engine ECU permits the start during the operation stop processing and sets a second enrichment control flag Fr2 to be a value 1 (S140, S150), and thus executes second enrichment control to make the degree of the enrichment of the air-fuel ratio lower than the first enrichment control when injecting fuel from the fuel injection valve in response to the start request.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】内燃機関の運転停止処理中になされた始動要求に応じて当該内燃機関を始動させる際のエミッション性能をより向上させる。【解決手段】エンジンECUは、エンジンの運転停止処理中に、始動時噴射実行フラグF1の値に基づいて、当該エンジンの始動に際して空燃比AFがリッチになるように燃料噴射弁から燃料を噴射させる第1のリッチ化制御が実行されており、かつエンジンの回転数が所定回転数以上であると判定し(S120)、更に、間欠停止要求フラグF2の値に基づいてエンジンの始動要求がなされたと判定すると(S130)、運転停止処理中の始動を許可すると共に第2リッチ化制御フラグFr2を値1に設定し(S140,S150)、当該始動要求に応じて燃料噴射弁から燃料を噴射させる際に、第1のリッチ化制御に比べて空燃比のリッチ化の度合いを小さくする第2のリッチ化制御を実行する。【選択図】図3
