Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature detection device and a heating cooker, which can detect temperature of containers having various shapes with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A heating cooker comprises: a top plate 2 where a container 10 is placed; a temperature detection device 30 which is arranged between the container and the top plate and has a temperature sensor for detecting temperature of the container and a first communication part for transmitting temperature detected by the temperature sensor; a body 1 arranged below the top plate; a heating part housed in the body, for heating the container; a second communication part 21 for receiving temperature information transmitted from the temperature detection device; a control part 22 for controlling the heating part based on the temperature information received by the second communication part; and a placement detection part for detecting whether the temperature detection device is placed above the heating part.
