Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multilayer polymeric films which may be useful for protecting leading edges of aircraft from rain and sand erosion.SOLUTION: A surface protection film comprises two or more layers of a first material alternating with one or more layers of a second material. The first and second materials are different materials. The first and second materials comprise first and second polyurethane polymers. The first and second materials have first and second Shore hardnesses. The first Shore hardness is greater than the second Shore hardness by more than 5A or more typically more than 10A. Adjacent layers of the first and second materials are preferably in intimate contact, and further preferably linked by covalent bonds.
