PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device for meter reading of a meter reading system that avoids a risk of a leak of personal information caused by a loss of a terminal device for meter reading carried by a meter reading worker.SOLUTION: A portable device 4 for meter reading carried by a meter reading worker during meter reading includes: a management terminal 8 as a unit having a function of a terminal device for meter reading such as a conventionally generally used handy terminal for meter reading; and a meter reading machine 9 as a unit only for collecting information of a meter reading value or the like from a gas meter 6 in a non-contact.
