Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display of high efficiency and high definition which utilizes a phosphor comprising quantum dots.SOLUTION: A phosphor comprising quantum dots is sealed in a phosphor layer 312. An LED light source 320 emits light. The light emitted by the LED light source 320 is made incident on the phosphor layer 312. At this time, a spectrum of the incident light is changed by the phosphor. A part of the light of which the spectrum has been changed is radiated from a display surface of a liquid crystal panel 210. 【課題】量子ドットからなる蛍光体を利用した、高効率かつ高精細の液晶ディスプレイの提供。【解決手段】蛍光体層312には、量子ドットからなる蛍光体が封止されている。LED光源320は光を照射する。LED光源320が照射した光は、蛍光体層312に入射する。このとき、入射した光のスペクトルは、蛍光体により変更される。スペクトルが変更された光の一部は、液晶パネル210の表示面から放射される。その結果、液晶パネル210には高精細の映像が表示される。【選択図】図5 |
