Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grate type waste incinerator and a waste incineration method capable of detecting and optimizing a state of waste on a grate at an upstream side of a combustion region in a combustion chamber.SOLUTION: A grate type waste incinerator 1 comprises: a combustion chamber 2 which has a grate 5 and performs combustion of waste W on the grate 5; primary air blowing means 7 and 9 which blows primary combustion air into the combustion chamber 2 from beneath the grate 5; and a waste feeder 12 which feeds the waste W onto the grate 5. The grate type waste incinerator 1 also has: an infrared camera 13 which is installed on a downstream side wall face in the combustion chamber 2 and obtains thermal image information about the waste on the grate 5; a data processing device 14 which obtains waste state information from the thermal image information; and a control device 15 which controls an operation condition of the grate type waste incinerator on the basis of the waste state information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】燃焼室で、燃焼領域よりも上流側における火格子上の廃棄物の状態を把握して該廃棄物の状態を適正とすることができる火格子式廃棄物焼却炉及び廃棄物焼却方法を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】火格子式廃棄物焼却炉1であって、火格子5を備え該火格子5上の廃棄物Wを燃焼する燃焼室2と、燃焼用一次空気を上記火格子5の下から上記燃焼室2内に吹き込む一次空気吹込手段7,9と、火格子5上に廃棄物Wを供給する給塵機12とを有する火格子式廃棄物焼却炉において、燃焼室2の下流側壁面に設けられ火格子5上の廃棄物の熱画像情報を得る赤外線カメラ13と、熱画像情報から廃棄物状態情報を得るデータ処理装置14と、廃棄物状態情報にもとづき焼却炉の操業条件を制御する制御装置15とを備える。【選択図】図1
