Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing hydrogen, in which hydrogen is generated by modifying a pyrolysis gas generated when pyrolyzing a carbonaceous raw material under the presence of a catalyst, an adverse effect on an operation due to carbon deposition generated on a surface of the catalyst is prevented, and the catalyst is made reusable.SOLUTION: An apparatus of manufacturing hydrogen from a carbonaceous raw material 1, in which a heat transport medium is used by repeatedly circulating by moving in an order of a combustion/regenerator 10, a modifier 8, a pyrolyzing device 7, and a transport device 9, the heat transport medium is made of a catalyst solid matter 6, the pyrolizing device 7 pyrolyzes the carbonaceous raw material 1 by using sensible heat of the catalyst solid matter 6, a generated pyrolysis gas is discharged to the modifier 8 and generated char 3 and the catalyst solid matter 6 are discharged to the transport device 9, the modifier 8 makes a modifying agent 4 react with a pyrolysis gas 2 of which temperature is elevated by the sensible heat of the catalyst solid matter 6 to produce a hydrogen-containing gas 5, the char 3 transported by the transport device 9 and the catalyst solid matter 6 are burned in the combustion/regenerator 10, and the modifying agent 4 is indirectly heated by the sensible heat of a combustion waste gas 13 at a heat exchanger 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】炭素質原料を熱分解した際に発生する熱分解ガスを、触媒存在下で改質して水素を製造すると共に、触媒表面で生じる炭素析出による操業への悪影響を防止し、更に、触媒を再利用可能とする。【解決手段】熱輸送媒体を、燃焼/再生器10、改質器8、熱分解器7、搬送装置9の順に、移動させて繰り返し循環使用する炭素質原料1から水素を製造する装置であって、熱輸送媒体は、触媒固形物6からなり、熱分解器7は、炭素質原料1を触媒固形物6の顕熱を用いて熱分解し、生成した熱分解ガスを改質器8へと排出すると共に、生成したチャー3と触媒固形物6とを搬送装置9へと排出し、改質器8は、触媒固形物6の顕熱を用いて温度上昇した熱分解ガス2に改質剤4を反応させて水素含有ガス5を製造し、搬送装置9で移送されたチャー3と触媒固形物6とを、燃焼/再生器10により燃焼させ、熱交換器14にて燃焼排ガス13の顕熱で改質剤4を間接加熱する。【選択図】図1
