PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and an RF coil apparatus capable of grasping defects of an RF coil unit.SOLUTION: An RF coil unit 8A has a plurality of reception channels CH1 to CH4 for receiving a plurality of MR signals respectively corresponding to a plurality of RF waves having different transmission intensities. An arithmetic circuit 9 has at least an index value acquisition function 91 and an abnormal channel determination function 95. By the execution of the index value acquisition function 91, the arithmetic circuit 9 acquires a plurality of reception intensity index values respectively corresponding to the plurality of MR signals for respective reception channels. By the execution of the abnormal channel determination function 95, the arithmetic circuit 9 determines whether or not an abnormal channel is included in the plurality of reception channels based on a comparison of the plurality of reception intensity index values over the plurality of reception channels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ＲＦコイルユニットの不具合を把握可能な磁気共鳴イメージング装置とＲＦコイル装置とを提供する。【解決手段】ＲＦコイルユニット８Ａは、送信強度の異なる複数のＲＦ波にそれぞれ対応する複数のＭＲ信号を受信する複数の受信チャネルＣＨ１からＣＨ４を有する。演算回路９は、少なくとも指標値取得機能９１と異常チャネル判定機能９５とを有する。指標値取得機能９１の実行により演算回路９は、複数の受信チャネル各々について、複数のＭＲ信号にそれぞれ対応する複数の受信強度指標値を取得する。異常チャネル判定機能９５の実行により演算回路９は、複数の受信チャネルに亘る複数の受信強度指標値の比較に基づいて、複数の受信チャネルに異常チャネルが含まれるか否かを判定する。【選択図】図１
