Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal face member excellent in durability.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a golf club head comprising an almost cup-shaped metal face member 7 containing a face part 2 for striking a ball and a return part 9 which is folded on a peripheral edge of the face part 2 and extends rearward of the head, the method comprising: a preparation step for preparing a metal plate-state member 20 containing a return part planned part 21 which is processed into the return part 9, and a face part planned part 22 which is processed into the face part 2; and a press step for plastically deforming the plate-state member 20 into the almost cup-shaped face member 7. The preparation step contains a step for forming a slit 25 extending from the vicinity of a peripheral edge 23 of the face part planned part 22 toward an outer peripheral edge 24 of the plate-state member 20, on the return part planned part 21. The press step is configured so that, a first edge part 31 and a second edge part 32 of the return part planned part 21 which are partitioned by the slit 25, are deformed so as to overlap each other in a thickness direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
【課題】耐久性に優れた金属製のフェース部材を提供する。【解決手段】 ボールを打撃するためのフェース部2と、フェース部2の周縁で折れ曲がってヘッド後方にのびる返し部9とを含む略カップ状の金属製のフェース部材7を用いたゴルフクラブヘッドを製造するための方法であって、返し部9に加工される返し部予定部分21と、フェース部2に加工されるフェース部予定部分22とを含む金属製の板状部材20を準備する準備工程と、板状部材20を、略カップ状のフェース部材7に塑性変形させるプレス工程とを含む。準備工程は、返し部予定部分21に、フェース部予定部分22の周縁23近傍から板状部材20の外周縁24に向かってのびるスリット25を形成する工程を含む。プレス工程は、スリット25で分断されていた返し部予定部分21の第1エッジ部31と第2エッジ部32とを、その厚さ方向で互いに重なるように変形させる。【選択図】 図7 |
