Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state monitoring device of a railroad vehicle that is configured to reduce the number of radio receivers in the whole of a train set and reduce costs of and installation work burdens for a carriage monitoring device, while keeping stable communication quality.SOLUTION: A state monitoring device 10, which is used for a train set 1 in which cars 11-14 comprising car bodies 21-24 and a pair of carriages 31F-34R arranged at both end parts in a longitudinal direction of the car bodies are connected, comprises: sensors 41F-44R, installed in the carriages respectively, which detect state information about equipment installed in the carriages; radio transmitters 51F-54R that transmit sensor signals including the detected state information; and at least one radio receiver that receives the sensor signals transmitted from the radio transmitters.
