Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain performance for improving a bottom sediment in a water area where a bottom is constituted of a sludge layer, for example, such as the water area where the bottom constituted of the sludge layer is always buried in water.SOLUTION: A structure for improving a bottom sediment is disposed in a water area where the bottom is constituted of a sludge layer. The structure for improving the bottom sediment is an improvement material having action for improving physical properties of the sludge layer, is constituted of the improvement material being at least one of granular matter and square matter, and includes a stratified part disposed on the sludge layer and a mountainous part projecting upward from the stratified part, in which the height of the mountainous part is higher than the annual deposit height of the sludge in the water area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】例えば、ヘドロ層により構成された底が常に水没している水域などの、底がヘドロ層で構成された水域において、底質の改善性能を維持可能とすること。【解決手段】底がヘドロ層により構成された水域に配置される底質改善用構造物は、前記ヘドロ層の物性を改善する作用を有する改善材であって、粒状物および方形物の少なくとも一方である改善材から構成され、前記ヘドロ層の上に配置された層状部と、前記層状部から上方に突出する山状部とを備え、前記山状部の高さは、前記水域におけるヘドロの年間堆積高さよりも高い。【選択図】図１
