PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unevenness of irregularity in a width direction of a fixation belt on an outer peripheral surface of the fixation belt.SOLUTION: A fixation device comprises: an annular fixation belt for transporting a recording medium by orbiting, and fixing an image formed on the recording medium to the recording medium; a maintaining member for contacting an outer peripheral surface of the fixation belt for maintaining an irregularity on the outer peripheral surface to a predetermined irregularity; an adjustment member for contacting an inner peripheral surface of the fixation belt, changing its own inclination for adjusting skew of the fixation belt; and a contact member for contacting the fixation belt just behind the adjustment member and just before the maintaining member in the orbiting direction of the fixation belt, or just behind of the maintaining member and just before the adjustment member in the orbiting direction of the fixation belt, in which the contact surface is arranged along a longer direction of the contact surface with the outer peripheral surface on the maintaining member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】定着ベルトの外周面における定着ベルトの幅方向での凹凸のムラを抑制する。【解決手段】定着装置は、周回して記録媒体を搬送しながら、当該記録媒体に形成された画像を当該記録媒体に定着する環状の定着ベルトと、前記定着ベルトの外周面に接触して当該外周面の凹凸を予め定められた凹凸に維持する維持部材と、前記定着ベルトの内周面に接触し、自らの傾きを変更して前記定着ベルトの斜行を調整する調整部材と、前記定着ベルトの周回方向における前記調整部材の直後且つ前記維持部材の直前において、又は、前記定着ベルトの周回方向における前記維持部材の直後で且つ前記調整部材の直前において、前記定着ベルトに接触し、その接触面が前記維持部材における前記外周面との接触面の長手方向に沿って配置されている接触部材と、を備える。【選択図】図３
