Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a band saw edge of which life elongation of a shank member can be achieved, and a band saw edge.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a band saw edge comprises a process (a) in which plural serration bases 5A, 5B of which tips are equipped with cutting edge parts 9 are formed on a strip member 3 at a suitable interval; and a process (b) in which chamfer processing 15A, 15B is executed for both side edges of a tooth bottom land 13 in a gullet part 11 formed between respective serration bases 5A, 5B by a material removal processing method. A chamfer amount B in said chamfer processing satisfies the following relation when a cutting margin is represented by T and a thickness of the strip member is represented by t: 0.10 mm≤B≤t/2-T/12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】胴部材の長寿命化を図った帯鋸刃の製造方法及び帯鋸刃を提供する。【解決手段】帯鋸刃の製造方法であって、先端部に切削刃部9を備えた複数の鋸歯台5A,5Bを、帯状部材3に適宜間隔に形成する(a)工程と、前記各鋸歯台5A,5B間に形成したガレット部11における歯底面13の両側縁に、材料除去加工方法によって面取り加工15A,15Bを行う(b)工程、の各工程を備えている。そして、前記面取り加工の面取り量Bは、当該帯鋸刃の切代をT、帯状部材の厚さをtとしたとき、0.10mm≦B≦t/2−T/12の関係にある。【選択図】図1
